Why does this matter?
Ivan Kožarić’s Grounded Sun became the centre of Davor Preis’s Nine Views installation. The planet sculptures were placed around Zagreb at scaled distances from the Sun, turning the city itself into a walkable solar-system model.
Find the Sun, choose one planet and earn it. Collecting all nine turns curiosity into municipal endurance sport.
What should you look for?
The Sun is easy. Finding one of the tiny planets is the detour. Do not rush the photograph. First place the detail back inside the street, harbour or landscape that made it possible.
How to find it
- Find the large Grounded Sun sculpture in central Zagreb, then choose one nearby planet — Mercury, Venus, Earth or Mars — and hunt for the small metal sphere fixed into the city around it.
- Use the map as a final check, then look for the physical detail described above.
- Allow enough time to notice the surroundings instead of treating this as a pin to collect.
Is it worth the detour?
Yes—if you prefer a place with a story to another interchangeable viewpoint. This is not the biggest sight in Zagreb. It is the one that makes the destination less generic.
