Why does this matter?
The strange structure is known as Kuća u kući — “House in a House.” Local tradition connects it with a dispute involving the Vuković family and a smaller house whose owner would not sell. The colourful details belong to local legend, but the architectural oddity itself remains: one house visibly caught inside another.
The legend may have grown in the telling. The masonry is strange enough without improving it.
What should you look for?
Look for the smaller stone house visibly enclosed by the larger structure. Do not rush the photograph. First place the detail back inside the street, harbour or landscape that made it possible.
How to find it
- Walk into old Bol and look for the protected curiosity known as Kuća u kući — literally “House in a House.”
- Use the map as a final check, then look for the physical detail described above.
- Allow enough time to notice the surroundings instead of treating this as a pin to collect.
Is it worth the detour?
Yes—if you prefer a place with a story to another interchangeable viewpoint. This is not the biggest sight in Bol. It is the one that makes the destination less generic.
